OK, all the biodiesel processor kits on this page are between $300 and $1000 and carry my recommendation. They should all make quality home-brew. These are a good compromise between a more expensive processor kits which have more bells and whistles and building your own from scrounging dump material. Kits have a definite advantage. One, no messing around looking for material. It arrives at your door, everything in place, everything ready to go. Two, others before you have added features you might not think of. Three, the time factor. It takes less time building, which equals, the sooner you can be using your own products and saving money. If this something that interests you, keep reading...

Why?

One, because for one all of the processors featured here are "closed" system processors. What this means is that in an enclosed system the fumes don't escape while mixing. This is important. These fumes can be extremely hazardous. You need to take this into account from the very beginning of the planning process and plan for safety.
Two, Say what you want but a biodiesel processor made from a hot water heater makes good sense to me. I still haven't been convinced that the plastic tank processors can heat the oil, and keep it heated, especially in cold weather climates.

With a hot water tank or "appleseed" processor you don't have that problem...they are made to be heated, have the heating element and the insulation built in. This makes good sense.
