What's the difference between a processor and a biodiesel kit?
Generally speaking, a processor just includes the processor.
It might, or might not, include other components.
A biodiesel kit is a compete system, usually a catalyst pre-mix tank, a processor, and a wash
tank. (See overview of the complete process here.)
With both, you can be making biodiesel in no time. it is more of a
question of do you want a Ford Focus (biodiesel processor) or a 4-wheel drive Chevy Suburban? (biodiesel kit.) It depends on your individual
needs and no one can answer the question for you. But I can help. Keep reading...
If you have made some test batches and everything went OK, try stepping up to processor and making more volume. If
you already have a processor and are looking to expand on that, step up to a kit. On the other hand, some people like to go first class. Nothing
wrong with that, go directly to a kit. Get everything you need.
But before doing either, make test batches first. Get your feet wet. See if this is something right for you. It's more about
the "process" rather than the "Processor." Once you have the process down, it's easy to know exactly what you need for your purposes. Some people
may want to just make enough fuel to run their generators. Other's want enough to power a small business. Understanding your needs, and your
abilities is what this all about.
